Srinagar, May 25: The brutal rape and murder of 12-year-old girl in Galwanpora Budgam has sent shockwaves of grief and indignation across the valley, prompting a strong demand for justice from political leadership. BJP General Secretary for Jammu and Kashmir, Anwar Khan, has stepped forward to condemn the heinous act, calling upon the J&K Police and the Lieutenant Governor’s administration to prioritise the investigation and ensure the perpetrators face the full weight of the law.
Addressing the media regarding the tragic loss of the minor, Khan described the incident as “against the spiritual essence of valley, inhumane and deeply unfortunate.” He expressed deep sympathy for the grieving family, acknowledging that such crimes strike at the very soul of the community. Khan emphasizes that the incident requires more than just routine investigation; it demands a swift and decisive response to restore faith in the justice system. He specifically urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and the J&K Police to oversee the case with the highest level of urgency.
In a clear message to the perpetrators and the public alike, the BJP leader stressed that complacency in such cases is unacceptable. He insisted that the administration should leave no stone unturned in identifying the culprits. “This is not merely a crime; it is a stain on our society,” Khan stated. “The authorities must act decisively to ensure that the individuals responsible for this barbaric act are identified and brought to justice. An example must be made of these culprits so that such heinous incidents are never repeated.”
The case, which has already been marked as a top priority by the local police, remains under active investigation. Senior police officials, including SSP Budgam, have confirmed that the prima facie evidence points toward rape and murder, assuring the public that the department is working tirelessly to apprehend those involved. As the valley mourns, the demands from leaders like Anwar Khan underscore a growing consensus: that justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done, providing a measure of closure for the victim’s family and a sense of security for the people of Budgam.
