Shopian, Jun 3: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta Wednesday chaired a Block Diwas programme here at Keller block of the district.
The outreach and public contact program was held with the view to listen to public importance issues and grievances for redressal.
During the interaction, the public projected several issues and demands related to completion of sports stadium Gatipora, Play-ground at Keller, road connectivity and macadamization, drinking water supply, dearth of staff in sub- district hospital, Keller, repairs of roads, construction of Battafojan bridge, Manloo footpath bridge, functioning of filtration plant Dumpora, electricity, healthcare, education, irrigation and other developmental demands.
The Deputy Commissioner listened patiently to the issues and grievances and issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for their prompt redressal. Matters requiring higher-level intervention were noted for appropriate follow-up action.
The DC assured the people that genuine public concerns would be addressed in a time-bound manner. He emphasized that Block Diwas serves as an effective platform for strengthening public outreach, ensuring transparency and accelerating development at the grassroots level.
Officers from various departments provided updates on various welfare and developmental schemes being implemented in the area.
ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, ADC, Dr, Zakir Hussain Faaz, district/sectoral and block level officers and officials, public representatives, ex- PRIs, civil society members, other stakeholders and public attended the block diwas.
