AIIMS Awantipora review triggers political row

New Delhi, Jun 6: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said India continues to stand out as the world’s fastest-growing major economy despite global economic uncertainty, attributing the achievement to the leadership and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Rajnath Singh in a post on X, said India’s economy registered a growth rate of 7.7 percent during FY 2025–26, while growth accelerated to 7.8 percent in the fourth quarter, reflecting the resilience and strength of the country’s economic foundations.
“At a time when many countries are facing economic uncertainty, India continues to stand out as the world’s fastest-growing major economy,” Singh said, adding that the achievement was built over the past 12 years through the mantra of “Reform, Perform, Transform.”
The Defence Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has successfully combined economic growth with stability, confidence, sustainability, and credibility.
He further said Modi’s commitment to nation-building, focus on innovation, infrastructure, and entrepreneurship, along with his ability to guide the country through unprecedented global challenges, has transformed India into a confident, resilient, and globally respected economic power.
“As India marches towards the vision of Viksit Bharat, this remarkable growth story continues to create new opportunities and strengthen the aspirations of 140 crore Indians,” Singh said. (JKNS)
