Srinagar, Oct 20: The Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation retired employees Wednesday held a protest at Lal Chowk press colony, demanding release of retirement benefits.
Protesters said that their retirement benefits are pending from the last 3 years.
“We are moving to every office and department but to no avail,” they said.
“If department is facing loss then how Batnagar had provided an amount to existing employees while our retirement amount could not be released,” protesters said.
“We even don’t even have money for oxygen cylinders while some have hopes to use the amount for the wedding of their kids,” a protester said.
“The protest is going on in both Jammu as well as in Kashmir. We are almost 120 employees from Srinagar and 140 employees from Jammu who are retired and are waiting for the amount to be released,” protesters said.
