Srinagar, Apr 26: In the wake of closure closure of schools in Jammu and Kashmir due to spurt in Covid-19 cases, the J&K government is mulling to start Tele and radio classes in a week’s time.
Top officials in the General Administration Department (GAD) said that they are planning to resume the Tele and radio classes in weeks’ time.
The official said, “In order to compensate the academic losses suffered by the students during the closure of schools, the department is devising the mechanism to resume the Tele and radio classes. Besides, the online classes will also be held as per the already notified schedule.”
“Most probably, the schedule of the Tele and Radio classes will be the same as the previous academic year,” he said.
Pertinently, the schools in Jammu and Kashmir have consistently remained closed for physical academic activities for more than a year now following the outbreak of COVID-19 in March-2020.
Earlier, in 2019, the government closed all educational establishments in August following the abrogation of Article-370.
On March-15, physical academic activities for elementary classes resumed in the Kashmir division.
However, last week, the government ordered closure of all Universities and Colleges across Jammu and Kashmir till May-15.
Besides, the government also ordered extension for closure of all schools to May-15.
