Srinagar, Jun 20: An elderly woman lost her life after being injured in a road accident in the Mujgund area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday, officials said.
The victim was identified as Aisha Wagay, a resident of Check Mujgund, Srinagar.
Officials said she sustained injuries in a road traffic accident and was rushed to JVC Hospital Bemina for treatment. However, doctors at the hospital declared her brought dead.
The death has cast a pall of gloom over the area, while police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident. [KNT]
