DC Kulgam conducts extensive tour of Noorabad, other areas

Kulgam, Oct 25: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Monday conducted an extensive tour of Noorabad and other parts of Kulgam district to take stock of the damage caused by recent snow spell to the orchards and Agriculture produce.
The DC visited Nihama, Manzgam, Watoo, Tangmarg, Aharbal, D.H.Pora, Khull Ahmadabad, Koursarbal, Batpora, Chugalpora and several other villages. He directed the concerned to expedite the process of damage assessment and submit the report at an earliest.
He also directed the concerned and experts to assess the losses including future fruit-bearing capacity and age factors of partially damaged trees. He also instructed them to provide technical assistance to the farmers.
During the inspection, various public and fruit growers deputations met the DC at various villages, and apprised him about damages caused due to early snowfall to their orchards.
During his extensive tour, the DC also took stock of restoration power, water supply, snow clearance of roads, availability of essential commodities.
He also inspected Sub District Hospital at D.H.Pora and took stock of patient care services available and enquired about the availability of essential medicines and availability of staff.
The DC exhorted upon the concerned to ensure that roster is strictly followed and patients are taken care of with utmost dedication and sincerity at the institution.
The DC was accompanied by, ADC, Showkat Ahmad Rather, SDM Noorabad, CMO, Executive Engineers from PDD, PHE and Mechanical Engineering Department, AD-FCS&CA, Tehsildar D.H Pora, officers from Horticulture, Agriculture and other allied departments.
