The ministry said that the initiatives are aimed at strengthening food processing infrastructure, improving supply-chain management, reducing post-harvest losses and facilitating better market access for farmers. However, it said no specific assessment has so far been undertaken to determine the impact of food processing infrastructure on farmers’ income, value addition, employment generation and reduction of wastage.
