No confidence motion against DDC Chairperson, VC in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, Oct 28: At least ten District Development Council (DDC) members have moved a no-confidence motion against Nuzhat Ishfaq, DDC chairperson and Bilal Ahmad Vice-Chairperson of Ganderbal district.
In a resolution signed by the members, they have stated that they resolve to move a no-confidence motion against the DDC chairperson and Vice-Chairperson of Ganderbal.
Ten DDC members who have moved the no-confidence motion include Rozi Jan DDC Gbl A, Muhammad Yousuf Bhat Gbl B, Hakima Bano Gund A, Noorani Ah Jara Gund B, Tasmeena Aadil Kangan A, Mia Amjid Kangan B, Mir Mudasir Kangan C, Ab Rashid Bhat Safapora, Zahida Hameed Wakura A and Sajad Ahmad Lar A.
As per the resolution, they have requested Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal to convene a special meeting of the members, so that the resolution is moved in the meeting and voting is done and then incumbent Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson are removed from the post.
One of the DDC members wishing not to be named told KNO that the low performance of works on the ground has forced the members to move a no confidence motion against them.
Meanwhile, an official said that the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal has sought time from them to decide further action under provisions of JK Panchayati Raj Act.
