SKUAST-K opens up scholarship opportunities for first-year students

Srinagar, Sep 7: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-Kashmir) organised a Counselling and Awareness Programme on Reliance Foundation Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarships in collaboration with the Reliance Foundation on September 7 at Nund Reshi Convention Centre, Main Campus, Shalimar.
The programme aimed to sensitise first-year undergraduate and postgraduate students about scholarship opportunities and encourage eligible students to seek financial assistance for pursuing higher education.
The Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Kashmir, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and urged students to work towards self-reliance by making effective use of available opportunities, including startups, innovation programmes, scholarships and other avenues listed on Scholarlify. He encouraged students to actively explore such opportunities for their academic, professional and personal growth and appreciated the Dean Students Welfare and her team for organising the programme.
In her welcome address, Prof. Raihana Habib Kanth encouraged students to take initiative, overcome the fear of failure and remain proactive in pursuing scholarships and other developmental opportunities.
Vijay Roy, Founder, Scholarlify, delivered a detailed presentation on scholarship opportunities available through the platform, covering eligibility criteria, application procedures and required documents. He also briefed students on the Reliance Foundation Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship Programme for 2026–27, including its eligibility requirements and benefits, besides highlighting other scholarship schemes and financial assistance opportunities for higher education.
Among others, the programme was attended by Prof. Raihana Habib Kanth, Director Extension/Dean, Faculty of Horticulture; Prof. M. Altaf Bhat, Director Education; Prof. (Dr.) Azmat Alam Khan, Registrar; Prof. Afshan Gul, Dean Students Welfare; Prof. Rohitashw, Associate Dean, COAE&T; Prof. Farah Naz Rasool, Officer on Special Duty; besides faculty members and a large number of students.
