Four held for assaulting shopkeeper in Reasi

Reasi, Sep 9: Police on Wednesday said they have arrested four persons in connection with an alleged assault on a shopkeeper at Bhambla in Reasi district earlier this month.
A senior police officer said that on September 4, four men allegedly armed with lathis attacked shopkeeper Sachin Puri at his shop near a petrol pump in Bhambla, leaving him seriously injured.
He said that following the incident, a case was registered at Police Station Pouni under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). One of the accused, identified as Kartik Uppal of Salyote, Reasi, was arrested shortly after the incident, while the remaining three allegedly fled to Punjab.
The official said a special police team, under the supervision of the SHO Pouni and DySP SOG Pouni, tracked the accused and arrested them from Jalandhar.
“The arrested accused were identified as Shubham Sharma and Mohit Sharma, both residents of Godhar, Pouni, Reasi, and Anmol Sudan, a resident of Salyote, Chowki Choura, Jammu,” the official said, adding that all four are presently in police custody and further investigation into the case is underway.
