No proper mechanism in place

There has been no let up in losses being suffered by the people in Kashmir Valley. Since 2019, the people affiliated with different trades are suffering losses due to one reason or the other. Yet again, the people ahead of the Muslim festival, Eid-ul-Fitr have suffered losses to the tune of Rs 40 Crore and blamed the administration for failing to come up with the proper programmes amid the lockdown. The amount mentioned above is the loss of only one section of the society. It is the people affiliated with the trade of bakery and confectionery, who have suffered such a loss. The associated members have claimed that the government had no proper plans and programmes for them ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr. Unlike previous years, they had prepared just 20 per cent of the bakery this year. However, the improper mechanism and programmes by the government this year has led to the loss of a whopping amount of Rs 30-Rs 40 Crores to the bakers. The administration especially in Srinagar had no proper plans and programmes for them. One fails to understand why the administration has not announced a decision and later withdrew it. The withdrawal of its order seems an admission that there were no plans with the administration ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr. The administration should have come up with a proper strategy so that the people would have not taken the steps that have led to the losses. The government should now consider taking measures and helping the people affiliated with the particular trade and other trade as well who are affected with the government announced lockdown.
