Srinagar, May 15: A 35-year-old man from Kund belt of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district was found hanging in a rented accommodation in Upper Bazar area of Qazigund on Saturday.
An official said that the man identified as Abdullah Naikoo @Shabir Ahmad (35), son of Sonaullah Naikoo of Waripora Kund was found hanging at Upper Bazar Qazigund.
He said that the man was a contractual employee, working in the post office. He added that the man was residing in a rented accommodation at Qazigund in the house of Ghulam Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Salam Mir of Chaimullah since November 25 last year.
Abdullah’s family alleged that he was murdered and demanded investigation into the incident. “His arm was tied with a rope, which indicates that he was murdered.” they said.
“We appeal to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir and Superintendent of Police (SP) Kulgam to look into the matter and investigate the case thoroughly to identify the culprits involved,” they added.
Meanwhile, a police officer said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations initiated.
