Director Health hold virtual meet with health officials of Kupwara

Srinagar, May 10: In order to get the first hand appraisal of Covid-19 management and preparedness, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather on Tuesday held a virtual meeting with health officials of Kupwara district.
A spokesperson of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir said the virtual meeting was held under the chairmanship of the director which was attended by all the health officials of Kupwara district.
The director reviewed the Covid-19 management and preparedness in the district.
The spokesman said the director emphasized on home surveillance of patients and asked the health officials to enhance home surveillance of the patients.
“Close eye should be kept on the oxygen saturation of the home isolation patients. So that we are able to keep a track on them and if their situation deteriorates they should be immediately shifted to hospitals,” Dr Mushtaq said.
He also stressed on Covid testing and asked the officials to increase the testing adding that the testing and sampling should be enhanced at sub centre level hospitals.
The director in the meeting also asked the officials to upgrade and update the Covid care centres in the district which would help in managing the Covid patients in a better way.
The director directed all the health officials to ensure and enhance oxygen generation and oxygen preparedness in all the hospitals.
Dr Mushtaq also reviewed status of triage centres, oxygen generation, oxygen cylinders, and oxygen concentrators, status of maternity and emergency services.
He also took a review of pooling of staff, details of anesthetists and their deployment, food arrangement of Covid patients, status of Corona kits and status of non-Covid work done in the district.
During the meeting, the director emphasized that 24/7 call centres for Covid-19 should be made functional in the district. Besides he said in view of the closure of OPDs, telemedicine services should be started.
He also directed the Chief Medical Officer Kupwara that at village level Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, village heads and religious leaders should be utilized for generating awareness for Covid management purpose. (KNT)
