Srinagar, May 25: Publicity Secretary J&K and Incharge Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Central Kashmir, Arif Raja Tuesday expressed gratitude to Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh for sending Covid consignment to Kashmir.
Raja in a statement issued here said that we received the consignment carrying face masks, sanitizers and other accessories. “We have started distribution of the items and today I gave these items to District Presidents of Srinagar and Budgam for further distribution among the people.”
Raja directed both the district presidents that these items should reach the common people within in the shortest possible time as these initiatives will help in preventing coronavirus from spreading.
He said that Dr Jitendra Singh is constantly monitoring the situation in the Union Territory and I am greatfull to him for sending these items to us. Such initiatives were much needed at this time, as Covid-19 pandemic has affected every section of society very badly.
Raja said that this was the first such initiative by any political party in Kashmir to help the people during this pandemic.
He further urged people to follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in letter and spirit to contain the virus spreading.
