Srinagar, May 28: Scores of job aspirants who have applied for the various posts at the SKIMS Soura and appeared in examination in December last have expressed anger against the authorities for delaying the selection process.
The aspirants alleged that there is unnecessary delay from the authorities at SKIMS as just few hundred people have appeared in examination and results should have been declared in one month hardly.
They said that in June last year they submitted forms for various posts and authorities took around six months to conduct the examination.
“Now another six months have passed since the examination was conducted but as of now there is no update about the selection list,” they said.
“Amid Covid-19 every healthcare institution including SKIMS faced staff dearth but instead of completing the selection process, SKIMS administration appointed staff on contractual basis,” said Mudasir Ahmad, a job aspirant.
Mudasir said that instead of appointing staff on contractual basis, SKIMS should have completed the selection process and given opportunity to young blood to serve their people in times of pandemic.
“There are several aspirants who are about to pass the age limit and won’t be able to apply for other jobs so authorities must complete the selection process at the earliest,” Mudasir said.
The aspirants appealed to SKIMS authorities to look into the matter and complete the selection process as soon as possible.
A total of 183 posts were advertised by SKIMS in June last year. The posts include technician (medical group), technician (theatre group), physiotherapist, anesthesia technician, staff nurse, draftsman, works supervisor and others.
Assistant Director Public Relations at SKIMS Kulsoom Bhat said that there is no delay from their side as selection is a process that takes time.
