Srinagar, May 31: ‘Commit To Quit’ with this theme Indian Army Monday celebrated World No Tobacco Day in Kalaroos. It was aimed at addressing the ever increasing problem of smoking in the valley and to spread awareness of the dangers related to the use of tobacco. Due to COVID-19 pandemic when everyone is sitting at home due to lockdown, young generation is being distracted towards this menace. Need was felt to motivate everyone to quit smoking and give up use of tobacco. They were told that they need to burn calories on a daily basis and not tobacco. Army told them the ways to quit this habit of tobacco use and promised to provide every possible help to help them to give up smoking.
Alongwith that, awareness of COVID protocols and vaccination drive being conducted by Government was spread among them.
People thanked the Army for such initiatives and also expressed their heartfelt gratitude for motivating everyone to give up this life taking habit of tobacco.
