Srinagar, Jun 21: Inam Ul Haq Siddiqui, Wednesday, assumed the charge of Joint Director Information, Kashmir, in presence of his predecessor, Haris Ahmad Handoo and other senior officers of divisional office.
Prior to his posting as Joint Director Information, Kashmir (JDI, Kashmir), Siddiqui was posted as Chief Executive Officer, Gulmarg Development Authority and has also held various senior positions in the administration.
After assuming charge, the incumbent Joint Director had a brief meeting with the officers. He also inspected different units of the department and interacted with the officials.
Earlier, he was briefed by the outgoing officer Mr Haris about the functioning of the department and its allied units including Divisional Newsroom, Field Publicity Unit, Cultural Unit and District Information Centres (DICs).
Seeking cooperation from the officers and the staff members working in the different Units of divisional office, the Joint Director asked them to work with full dedication and be punctual in their duties.
Later Haris Ahmad Handoo was seen off by the officers and officials with good respect and honour. All the officers and officials equivocally stated that the tenure of Haris Ahmad Handoo was a golden period in which employees learned a lot from his vast experience, knowledge and guidance.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Assistant Director (PR), Muhammed Aslam Khan; Assistant Director (Advt), Javaid Ahmad; Cultural Officer Srinagar, Tawheed Ahmad; Youth Information Officer, Sachin Bali besides others concerned.
