Div Com felicitates Doctors, Healthcare workers on ‘National Doctors’ Day’

Srinagar, Jul 1: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole Thursday felicitated various doctors and Health Care Workers (HCWs) during a function organised on eve of National Doctors’ Day at Covid-19 Divisional Control Room Kashmir (DCCRK), here.
The Doctors and health workers were felicitated for their outstanding work and tireless service rendered particularly during the pandemic.
Among others, Mission Director NHM Chowdary Yaseen, DHS Kashmir Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Incharge DCCRK Tahir Ahmad Magray and senior level Medical Officers of DCCRK were present on the occasion.
Hailing all the doctors and HCWs of Kashmir division on showing tremendous zeal and dedication in their work at all levels of healthcare delivery system in this ongoing war against Covid 19 pandemic, Div Com said that the “fight against the virus cannot be won by administration alone unless we have people like you on our forefront.”
He however, cautioned not to be complacent and instructed to work more hard and be prepared to fight the third wave of covid more efficiently.
Div Com emphasized to keep people at large aware about the benefits of Covid appropriate Behavior along with the importance of vaccination. These are only tools which can be of great help to avoid any catastrophes in near future from this virus, he added. He advised all the officers and officials of the division to work on how to bring a behavioural change at all levels of primary health care delivery system.
Speaking on the occasion, Mission Director NHM Chowdary Yaseen congratulated the whole medical fraternity on doctor’s day. He appreciated the work done by all the officers and officials of the Health and Medical Education Department and their dedication towards serving the people by keeping their own and dear one’s life at risk in this pandemic.
DHS Kashmir Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Rather also applauded the selfless role played by Doctors and HCWs of Kashmir Division in this fight against dreadful virus. He expressed his satisfaction on the work done by his department in these tough times and also paid rich tributes to the doctors and HCWs who lost their lives while fighting this war against this virus.
At the start of the Ceremony Incharge DCCRK, Tahir Ahmad Magray deliberated about the various roles and responsibilities played by the doctors and HCWs of Kashmir division in this tough time of covid 19 pandemic in their efforts for mitigation activities in Kashmir Division.
He also expressed his gratitude that this pandemic created a better opportunity for administrators and doctors to understand each other in a better way which has resulted in excellent outcomes in our fight against this virus.
Doctors’ day is celebrated every year on 1st of July to commemorate the birth and death anniversary of former Bengal Chief Minister Dr. B. C. Roy.
He was a great Indian Physician, educationist, academician, philanthropist, and was pioneer in institutionalization of Indian Healthcare delivery system across the country in the 20th century.
