Sufferings mount: Fuel drains money

Like other parts of the country, there has been no end to the hike in petrol in Jammu and Kashmir as well, which has left the commuters and the public transporters in tizzy. The abrupt hike in the fuel has led to the sufferings of commuters as it has put a burden on them especially at a time when the lockdown and the situation caused by the deadly pandemic has already led to the huge losses to the people. The hike in the fuel was witnessed soon after the government presented the fresh budget for 2020-21. This hike has finally led to the increase in the transport fare as people claim that the transporters have raised the fare quickly and didn’t wait for the government’s orders in this regard. One fails to understand how long the people will have to suffer in terms of unprecedented hikes on such products. As the sufferings due to hike in fuel has mounted, there is a need to bring solutions with regard to the hardships being faced by people when they are being asked to pay double fare in busses and other transports, which is pushing the local populace to the wall. It stands the responsibility of the concerned to address all the concerns of the people so that the people could heave a sigh of relief.
