Coronavirus: One death, 160 new cases in JK

Srinagar, Jul 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory on Wednesday witnessed one death and 107 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 1,139.
With one more death reported in last 24 hours, the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,376 and 160 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 321,026.
Of the exact number of 321,026 cases, 199,434 are from Kashmir division and 121,592 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 160 new cases, 100 belong to Kashmir division while as 60 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 199,434 including 196,493 recoveries and 2,236 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 121,592 including 119,018 recoveries and 2,140 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,139 including 705 from Kashmir division and 434 from Jammu division. With 144 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 315,511 which is 98.28 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 42 from Srinagar, 20 from Baramulla, 12 from Budgam, 00 from Pulwama, 06 from Kupwara, 04 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 13 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 60 from Jammu division include 08 from Jammu, 06 from Udhampur, 06 from Rajouri, 08 from Doda, 01 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 02 from Kishtwar, 07 from Poonch, 07 from Ramban and 14 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities on Wednesday said that no fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 35. As per officials figures, 71,307 positive cases including 832 deaths and 70,130 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,576 including 282 deaths and 23,210 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,868 including 22,608 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Budgam, 15,156 including 14,914 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,051 including 165 deaths and 13,847 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,314 including 16,067 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,465 cases including 9,338 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,878 including 9,755 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,236 including 11,111 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,583 including 5,513 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 52,738 including 51,466 recoveries and 1,139 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,288 including 11,125 recoveries and 135 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,906 including 10,638 recoveries and 225 deaths are from Rajouri, 7,203 including 7,012 recoveries and 124 deaths are from Doda, 9,258 including 9,106 recoveries and 151 deaths are from Kathua, 7,122 including 6,974 recoveries and 119 deaths are from Samba, 4,628 including 4,555 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,254 including 6,124 recoveries and 94 deaths are from Poonch, 5,962 including 5,865 recoveries and 66 deaths are from Ramban and 6,233 including 6,153 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,803,080 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 8,317 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,139 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 2,438,350 persons have completed the surveillance period and 350,898 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 11,540,557 samples are available. Out of 11,540,557 the number of samples tested negative stands at 11,219,531 while as 321,026 have tested positive, among them 1,139 persons are active, 315,511 persons have recovered and 4,376 persons have died.
