Baramulla, Jul 31: Civil Society Baramulla in collaboration with several prominent stakeholders today organized a grand function at Sheerwani Hall to celebrate the ‘Varmul Day’.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The function was organised to appreciate and felicitate the services rendered by various personalities and stakeholders towards the welfare and upliftment of the society. About 11 eminent personalities were felicitated who contributed positively in their respective domains.
The Deputy Commissioner, in his address complimented the organizers and termed it a much important event that has been organised to recognize their services. He extended his extreme applause and paid tribute to all those whose services were positively remembered, adding that such personalities in the society feel us proud and keep our heads high.
He also highlighted the services of COVID-19 warriors and said that these warriors worked tirelessly and selflessly during the tough circumstances that emerged due to the outbreak of the pandemic. He also emphasized that every stakeholder should identify his role and should endeavour to contribute and play its part towards the welfare of the society.
Other speakers also presented their views wherein they extended their appreciations to these personalities.
DIG North Kashmir, SSP Baramulla Rayees Ahmed Bhat, Principal GMC Prof Ruby Reshi, district and sectoral officers among other prominent stakeholders participated in the celebration.
