Baramulla, Aug 17: In connection with the Urs of Sufi saint Hazrat Kamal-U-Din Balki alias Kamaandar (RA), District Information Centre Baramulla in collaboration with Kashmir Society International today organized a day long Sufi Cultural event at his shrine situated at Kaman Post in Uri.
Kashmir Society International, is a famous NGO of Kashmir working towards the preservation of rich Kashmiri art and culture more specifically pertaining to Sufism.
The programme witnessed the participation of various stakeholders including civil society members, religious personalities, members of Kashmir Society International among other concerned functionaries.
On the occasion, Chairman of Kashmir Society International Farooq Renzu Shah expressed gratitude of all the participants and said that such events has a significant importance towards the revival and preservation of Sufi Kashmiri culture.
He added that their organisation is carrying out different cultural activities that are meant to educate people regarding the significance of rich kashmiri heritage.
Moreover, he said that Sufism constitutes an inalienable part of our society and urged upon every stakeholder to play their role in this regard.
