The government’s efforts and works for the wellbeing of the people across Jammu and Kashmir have taken a speed from the last couple of years with the central government stating that the newly carved Union Territory will see a new dawn of development. The government has also kick-started a series of public outreach in Jammu and Kashmir and sent delegations of Union Ministers here to review the developmental scenario here. Meanwhile, in the recent order, the administration of Jammu and Kashmir has directed departments to display banners and hoardings in major towns and cities of the Union Territory to highlight their plans, policies and achievements. The Chief Secretary asked all the administrative secretaries to display banners and hoardings in all the major towns and cities highlighting various development plans, policies and works accomplished by the government with due prominence to prominent projects. The exercise will provide adequate visibility and outreach to government initiatives and will facilitate awareness generation among the public. Information department has been asked to coordinate with all departments for this purpose. With such an initiative, the works executed and the initiatives taken by the government for the wellbeing of the people will no longer remain hidden to the people any more. Such a move will also ensure transparency in the government departments. The government should consider taking more such decisions so that transparency will be ensured in the government departments.
