DC Bandipora inspects developmental projects, macdamization

Bandipora, Oct 4: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad on Monday inspected various developmental projects in Sumbal sub division and took stock of the ongoing projects.
He was accompanied by officers of Education Department and R&B department besides other senior officers.
Dr Owais inspected the under construction additional accommodation of Govt Higher Secondary School Sumbal and 100 bedded Girls Hostel Building in Girls High School Sumbal besides inspecting ongoing macdamization of Bandipora- Srinagar road.
Officers informed that the additional accomodation of the School has been going on under PAB Supplementary scheme at the approved cost of Rs 1.11 Crore. Officers informed that majority of the works have been completed while the finishing works including electrification and levelling of premises is going on and is expected to be inaugurated by 18th of this month.
Dr Owais urged the officers to meet the deadline and complete the works much before set date. He said the additional accomodation will adress the infrastructural needs of the school and will fulfill the long pending demand of the locals.
He said the additional accommodation includes a double story building having 10 room and washroom complex.
While inspecting under Construction Girls Hostel , officers informed that the three storey Girls hostel is being constructed at the cost of Ra 3.06 Cr and the work is almost complete with only finishing works left. The hostel is set to be inaugurated by the end of this month.
Later Deputy Commissioner also inspected the ongoing macdamization of Bandipora-Srinagar road upto Ajjas. He urged the officers to ensure quality of work and expedite to meet the target of macdamization this year. He said the record kilometers have been macdamized this year in the district.
