Driver injured, cleaner missing after JCB plunges into river Sindh

Ganderbal, Oct 4: The driver of a JCB was injured while its cleaner went missing after the JCB plunged into river Sindh near Hung Sonamarg on Srinagar-Leh highway in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district early Monday morning.
SDPO Kangan, Yasir Qadri said that the driver was injured while JCB cleaner has gone missing after the JCB plunged into river Sindh.
“Today in morning one JCB vehicle skidded off-road and fell into nallah sind at hung area of sonamarg resulting injuries to driver Shahid Ahmad Gasi a resident of Guzhama Ganderbal and conductor namely Irfan Ahmad Bhat a resident of Bakura Ganderbal,” the police statement reads.
Qadri said that soon after receiving the information a police team from Sonamarg, SDRF unit Ganderbal and locals launched a massive rescue operation.
SDPO said that after hectic efforts the driver of the JCB was rescued in an injured condition from the gushing water and was immediately taken to PHC Sonamarg for treatment.
He said that the cleaner of the JCB is still missing and a rescue operation is underway to trace him.
