Ganderbal, Oct 6: Authorities in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district Wednesday continued the rescue operation on the third day to trace out the body of a missing conductor, who went missing after JCB plunged into river Sindh near Hung Sonamarg on Monday morning on Srinagar-Leh highway.
An official said that the police, SDRF unit and local volunteers intensified the rescue operation on the second day to find the missing conductor in river Sindh near Hung Sonamarg.
He said that the rescue operation was called off last evening due to darkness and on Tuesday morning Sonamarg police, SDRF unit Ganderbal restarted the operation to trace the body of the missing conductor.
As already reported , a JCB vehicle skidded off-road and fell into nallah Sind at Hung area of Sonamarg resulting injuries to driver Shahid Ahmad Gasi a resident of Guzhama Ganderbal while conductor namely Irfan Ahmad Bhat a resident of Bakura Ganderbal had went missing.
Meanwhile, the family members of the missing conductor staged a protest and demanded a fast track rescue operation.
