Ensure permanent accommodation for DDC, BDC members in Kashmir: Div Com directs officials

Srinagar, Oct 13: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, P.K Pole has asked the concerned authorities for the permanent construction of accommodation for District Development Council (DDCs) and Block Development Council (BDCs) members.
Pole in a meeting told all Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Kashmir division about the measures being taken with regard to construction of permanent accommodation such identification of land, tendering etc for DDC and BDC members.
According to the minutes of a meeting available, Pole said, “The permanent accommodation for DDCs and BDCs has already been approved by the rural development department.”
“All the Deputy Commissioners must ensure that the works are put to tendering for construction within one week positively,” it reads.
Pole also informed that the design for prefabricated accommodation for 100 persons like Sarpanchs, Deputy Sarpanchs, Panches and non Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) protected persons has been forwarded to Deputy Commissioners.
He said, “DCs are directed that besides, identification and transfer of land it shall be ensured that Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) in this regard be submitted to this office within three days positively.”
Pole in the meeting laid emphasis on the construction of Community Bunkers.
He said that 170 Bunkers in Kupwara, 80 in Baramulla and 25 in Bandipora are under execution out of which only 139 in Kupwara, 20 in Baramulla and 24 in Bandipora are completed.
“It is impressed upon the DCs of Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara to expedite the construction process of Bunkers and ensure execution by or before Oct 31st, 2021 complete in all respects,” it reads.
