Ganderbal, Oct 19: A residential house was completely damaged in a blaze that broke out at Kachnambal area of Kangan in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.
The locals said that a massive fire broke out from the residential house of Liyaqat Bijran, son of Ismail Bijran of Kachnambal at around 3:00 am.
Firefighters and locals doused the flames and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby houses, witnesses said, adding that the residential house suffered damage.
One of the relatives of the affected family said that the property worth lakhs of rupees got damaged in the mishap.
The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained, an official said.
The locals of the village urged the administration to compensate the losses to the downtrodden family at an earliest.
Meanwhile, police has taken cognizance of the fire incident and has started investigation into the matter.
