Kokernag, Nov 6: The people of Sunbrari Magam area of Kokernag hamlet on Saturday raised slogans against rural development officials including sarpanch and village level worker after they alleged that deserving people have been skipped from PMAY scheme list.
Sources said that a Gram Sabha was scheduled to be held in Sunbrari Magam , however, once officials showed list of the persons part of the PMAY list, people whose names were not in the list raises slogans against officials.
“During Gram Sabha on Saturday, officials showed them first one list, after locals raised hue and cry, they showed second and when again locals raised slogans, they showed third list which is totally unfair as if officials were confident on first list then why second was framed,” locals said.
“It seems that no proper verification was done and only lists were made on basis of favouritism and only those were part of the list who have bribed the officials,” locals alleged.
Bilal Ahmad Bhat, a local resident said that they had seen names of few people in the list just four days before at BDO office but today those names weren’t in the list.
“Those names were in the list after proper geo-tagging but today we saw few names have been cutted and new names have been made of the list,” Bhat said.
Locals requested concerned authorities to look into the matter at an earliest so that deserving persons will get the sheds under PMAY scheme.
Meanwhile Block Development Officer Kokernag Muzzafar Ahmad said those whose geo-tagging has been done will get their name under the scheme after proper verification once again.
He said that once priority list will be finalised, it will be published at local masjid and seven days will be kept to submit objections at BDO office.
“I will myself verify the objections and only deserving persons will get the sheds under PMAY scheme,” he said.
