Receiving the dues is a right of every individual, working in different departments or sectors. Similarly, the employees, who have been working in the State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC), too deserve the dues as promised with them. The employees have not received the dues for the last 11 years. They have been struggling to get their pending dues, but all in vain as their struggle has not come to an end yet, thus leaving them to lurch at large. Recently, Jammu and Kashmir state road transport employees protested against non-fulfillment of their demands. Almost 750 employees have appointed under SRTC/VRS, GHS scheme which was provided by government in which it has been stated whosoever will be appointed in SRTC/VRS/GHS will get all rights within two months but they have received only 60 per cent of dues so far while 40 per cent are still pending. According to the employees, the bills for the same have been already prepared in SRTC and civil secretariat, but it’s very unfortunate that two departments like the finance department and department of SRTC sit on this very sensitive issue. The promises done with the poor employees must be fulfilled. Every employee working in any different departments are equal and deserve all the rights. Therefore, the government must not ignore the plights of SRTC employees and should take immediate steps to release their 40per cent of ending dues at earliest.
