Srinagar, Nov 11: An unidentified militant was killed in a brief encounter at Bemina area of Srinagar on Thursday, police said.
A police official said that acting on a specific lead about the presence of militants near police post Bemina, a brief shootout took place in which an unidentified militant was killed.
“One unidentified #militant killed. 01 AK rifle along with ammunition recovered. Search going on. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir police zone tweeted.
Earlier, police had tweeted that an encounter had started at Srinagar. Police and security forces are on the job. Police said that the search operation is on in the area—(KNO)
