The renovation of embankments at Baba Demb, has failed to sustain for a longer period in absence of the proper caretaker from the government side. It has been just a year or so, but the food courts and footpath is giving a bad impression to the visitors. The food court has suffered almost complete damage by the unidentified persons. The place caught the eye of the people, living close to the area, who were seen visiting the place frequently, especially in the evening hours. The renovation was done by the tourism department with an aim to revive the glory of the once famous water body. But, it seems that investing money was the only aim as there was no one available to keep an eye on ensuring safety of the government property. One fails to understand the reason behind investing the money when there was no one to take proper care of the project. There are people who believe that the concerned department after completing the renovation process should have deputed at least one person there to ensure that the government property is protected for the visitors. It is not only about Baba Demb, but the government must consider deputing at least one employee to places like this to keep an eye on the property so that the assets are protected and can help the government in generating the income. These assets belong to the people, but they (people) must help the government in protecting the properties like this.
