Nuisance: Illegal car parking outside hospitals

The traffic has yet again turned chaotic in Srinagar areas as the commuters continue to park their vehicles illegally on the roadsides, thus leaving the people especially pedestrians to lurch at large. Majority of the time, it has been found that the commuters are indulging in illegal car parking outside the hospitals here, leaving the commuters to suffer. In one such instance, the illegal car parking outside a private hospital in Magarmal Bagh area of Srinagar, known as Shifa hospital, has turned nuisance for the public. On Monday evening, the vehicles in large numbers were seen stranded in the congested Magarmal Bagh to Batamaloo road. The congested roads are already pushing the commuters to the wall, but the illegal car parking especially at the vital junctures are not only adding to the misery of the people, but are putting the lives of the patients at risk too. The traffic cops could be seen regulating the traffic at the vital roads, but these junctures are being ignored as no traffic cop is being deployed at these spots, thus allowing the commuters to park their vehicles illegally on the roadsides, which needs to be curbed at an earliest. The concerned department should take appropriate action in this regard and ensure that the traffic obstacles, especially at the vital junctures are put to an end so that the commuters especially the attendants could heave a sigh of relief.
