Srinagar, Dec 14: The residents especially women folk from Syed Meerak Shah Colony, Habak Crossing here in Srinagar outskirts Wednesday staged a protest against the Power Development Department for faulty transformer installed in the locality.
The protesters who blocked road leading to Nishat and Hazratbal said that the power transformer installed in the area frequently develop faults and it should be upgraded from 250 KVA to 400 KVA.
The protestors raised slogans against PDD and alleged that despite bringing the issue into the matter of top officials nothing was done to give a respite to the people.
Later police and civil officials reached the spot and assured protesting people that they will install new and upgrade transformer in the area after sometime. (KNT)
