Keep Kashmir connected

It has been three days since the people across Jammu and Kashmir are suffering due to the non-availability of electricity after technical snagging occurred at many places. The sufferings mount amid the ongoing strike called by the Power Development Department (PDD) employees, who are on strike since the intervening night of December 17-18 to press for their demands. The employees demand the government to ensure that the power is not privatized. The rounds of talks held with the government employees have so far failed to break the ice as the PDD employees didn’t agree to call-off the strike and are still on ‘Dharna’ to press the government over their demands. The social media platforms have also remained flooded with the posts against as well as in favor of the PDD employees. Some of the people have been supporting the protest called by the employees while some blame them for leaving thousands of consumers to suffer and forcing them to reel under darkness. As both the government as well as the employees seems reluctant to give up, the consumers across J&K would certainly continue, thus in view of the sufferings of the people, there is a need for someone among the two to give up for the wellbeing of the consumers, so that they are not forced to reel under darkness any further and could heave a sigh of relief. One has to take a call at earliest and there shouldn’t be any further delay.
