J&K’s MSME sector sparks economic growth

Yet again, Jammu and Kashmir recorded a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases from the last couple of days. Nonetheless, the gates have been closed once again for the students in Jammu and Kashmir, as the government has ordered closure of the coaching centres in wake of the surge in the covid cases. Education has again become a casualty here, thus paving way for the further losses to students, who remained away from the educational institutions for the last three years due to one reason or another. One fails to understand why the coaching centres have been closed when the public parks, markets and tourist places are open where a huge rush of people could be witnessed day-in and day-out, thus increasing the risk of Covid spread. The closure of coaching centres comes at a time when the students are being vaccinated and as per the claims of the coaching centres, the Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) is followed in letter and spirit. There are people who question the government move, saying that the educational institute is the only place where Covid is spreading. There was expectation that after the vaccination of children, the government would consider reopening schools for one and all. However, in contrary to the expectations, the government after the surge in covid cases has ordered closure of the coaching centres. The government should consider allowing the students to attend the classes at the educational institutions, especially at the coaching centres to ensure that their education is not affected any further.
