Srinagar, Feb 1: Scores of Hospital Development Fund (HDF) employees of various districts Tuesday staged a protest demonstration here demanding the release of wages and regularization of their services.
The protesting employees said “they are without salaries despite being called as Covid warriors.
“We have put our lives at stake during the Covid-19 waves but our wages have not been released by the authorities. We have worked tirelessly during the toughest time but authorities have not regularized our services,” they said.
They said they have worked tirelessly during the Covid-19 and didn’t visit homes for months to see the family members, despite that their meagre wages are being held by the department.
The protesters said, employees work on a meagre amount of salary and some of them were without the salaries from the past 2 to 3 years.
While demanding the implementation of the Minimum Wages Act they said that the government should regularize them according to the new regularization policy.
They urged the LG-led administration to look into the matter and regularize their services. (KNT)
