Kupwara, Feb 5: Expressing anger, doctors and para-medical staff posted in the frontier Karnah sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district Saturday accused the Block Medical Officer (BMO) of harassing, blackmailing and using foul language. They demanded his immediate transfer.
At least 13 doctors have written to higher authorities jointly and furnished a joint paper with their signatures blaming the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Karnah (Tangdhar) for making their conditions more unusual with his untoward attitude.
In the joint representation, doctors fraternity of Karnah, have stated that BMO was blackmailing them, hurling abuses at them and also blackmailing them as well.
As per the joint representation, the doctors have alleged that they are harassed for visiting their families and often offensive and absurd language is used by him against them adding that “irritating attitude makes their lives miserable in the already overburdened environment.”
The doctors have demanded respectful and humane working conditions saying that it’s the result of the untoward attitude of BMO that has made the situation uncomfortable and suffocating.
Acting immediately to the joint representation of the Medical staff at Karnah, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara has ordered the formation of a committee of five senior health officials. CMO has directed the committee to submit their report within three days positively along with their comments and recommendations.
