The threat of cyber frauds continues to loom at large in the Valley as the cases with regard to these frauds continue to be lodged at the police stations. However the cyber police have been making tremendous efforts in assisting the people, who lose their property or cash in these frauds or cases. In yet another instance, the cyber police proved its ability by recovering over 70 smartphones worth lakhs of rupees across Kashmir, receiving appreciation from the owners of the property as well from the general public. It is not for the first time that recoveries have been made, but in the past too, the cyber police have assisted the general public in getting their mobile phones, which they had lost. Not only the mobile phones, but the cyber police are helping the people in getting their money, which they lose to the cyber fraudsters. An amount of Rs 4.20 lakhs were saved by the financial desk of the Cyber Police Station Kashmir yesterday, which the victims of cyber frauds had lost in various online scams. As the modern world relies on the technology, there is a need to ensure that the modern techs are used in a judicious way to ensure that the cyber frauds are prevented and the trap being laid by the cyber fraudsters is put to an end. The people using the modern technology especially the mobile phones, must not share the bank details, account details, personal details, OTP to anyone to ensure that their property is safe. In the ongoing efforts of Cyber police, the general public too should cooperate with them and ensure that the attempts of cyber fraud are prevented.
