Srinagar, Feb 12: Scores of Incharge Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) Saturday staged a protest here at Srinagar’s Press Enclave and demanded regularization of their jobs.
Scores of protesters assembled at the press colony and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
Muhammad Maqbool, one of the protesters said that they have been serving in the education department from last nearly 14 years, but claimed that the confirmation of their jobs was always delayed.
“We have been submitting our documents for the regularization process from time to time, but the process is always getting delayed and thus the document for vigilance clearance becomes invalid as it is valid for six months only,” he said.
He said that DPC for every single employee including DIET principals, lecturers and others have been completed, but the incharge ZEOs are being pushed to the wall.
The protesters appealed the administration to look into the matter and ensure that their jobs are regularised at am earliest.
