When journalism turns into trolling: Reclaiming fourth pillar of democracy (Part-II)

The regularization of thousands of employees, serving in different government departments of Jammu and Kashmir are pending since the last several decades, thus leaving them to lurch at large. The promises done with them by the successive regimes so far, have failed to prove fruitful for the daily wagers, casual labourers and others. In one such instance, scores of Incharge Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) hit the streets against the government for failing to fulfill their demands in the last over one decade, saying that despite submitting the documents several times, there has been no outcome with regard to the regularization process. These Incharge ZEOs have been serving in the education department for the last nearly 14 years, but the confirmation of their jobs has been delayed. Even the submission of documents for the regularization process from time to time has failed to serve any cause. There are thousands of other employees also, who have been moving from pillar to post to seek the regularization of their jobs, but their efforts have failed to bring any fruit for them so far. There were several instances when the administration promised the early regularization of these temporary employees, but every time they were deceived either by one way or the other. Therefore, in order to assist the thousands of daily wagers and casual laborers, the government should take early steps and precede the process further so that the employees could heave a sigh of relief.
