Kupwara, Feb 18: An eight-year-old girl died after drowning in a rivulet in her native village at Takipora village of Lolab tehsil in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said on Friday.
The officials said that an eight year old girl identified as Sania, daughter of Shams-udin Bhat was drowned in a rivulet.
They said that the girl was taken out from the stream and immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital, however the doctors there declared her as brought dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, a pall of gloom has descended over the native village on the tragic death of the girl.
