DC Kupwara chairs Mega Block Diwas at Darpora Lolab

Kupwara, Feb 23: The Vice Chairman DDC, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir and Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Imam Din Wednesday jointly chaired a Mega Block Diwas programme at Darpora village of block Sogam.
Officers from Civil administration and PRIs, besides, the general public attended the daylong Block Diwas programme.
In his address, the VC DDC said that the objective of holding the Block Diwas programme in far flung areas like Darpora is to provide governance at the door steps of the people. He complimented Deputy Commissioner Kupwara for reaching out to the public, especially in far flung and border areas of the district and resolving public issues in a time bound manner.
The DC in his address said that a three tier Panchayati Raj system has been established for overall development of the people at all levels. He urged the people to participate in Gram Sabhas for proper planning and development of their villages and to ensure genuineness of the works being executed.
The DC assured the PRIs that their genuine developmental issues shall be resolved on priority.
Referring to grievances redressal, the DC said that the doors of his office are open and he is personally hearing the public grievances on every Monday and Thursday in a week.
Regarding the District CAPEX Budget, the DC said that the Government has increased the district budget 3 times this year to ensure massive development of Kupwara district.
He said that all schemes of Jal Shakti have been approved in the district and every household of the district will get tapped water connection under the ambitious Jal Jeevan Mission by August this year.
The DC directed the officers to conduct regular field visits and ensure that all public grievances shall be redressed timely.
Earlier, PRIs and senior citizens projected various developmental issues of the area before the chair.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the site of an industrial estate at Margi Darpora.
Block Diwas programme was also held at Hajinard Tangdar in Karnah subdivision which was presided over by Tehsildar Karnah.
