DC Budgam for early estimation, tendering of Town Beatification works

Budgam, Feb 25: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Friday chaired a meeting of officers to review the implementation of beautification plan for the Budgam Town.
At the outset, the DC said that under the beautification plan various parks including Old Bud Stand, Ompora, Wadipora, Gania Mohalla, restoration and renovation of fountain at Old Bus Stand shall be carried out in a swift manner.
He said that besides these works, the shopkeepers in the town shall be applying color coding, work for beautification of New Bus Stand including fencing and plantation, construction of double story parking slot near boys higher Secondary School and other places shall be taken up for the beautiful look of the town.
He directed concerned to carry out a fresh survey from Humhama to Mirgund Chowk for development of roads, footpaths, development of lawns at government offices, development of Karipora raod, road up to Degree College Budgam, establishment of public conveniences, parking spots at designated spots and work for road marking and signage shall also include in the beautification plan of the town.
The DC said that a state of the art entry gate of the district shall also be constructed at Humhama Chowk.
He also emphasized on illumination of the town and instructed constructed to ensure street lights are installed across the town and use of high mast lights at old and new bus stands is ensured.
He emphasized on putting up a comprehensive DPR of the beautification plan and instructed concerned on carrying out of development of river fronts at Town Hall Budgam, Naraspora and other identified spots.
The DC stressed on early estimation and tendering of all works and instructed concerned to ensure construction of a robust drainage system across the town.
Directions for removal of roadside encroachments and drinking water facility points be established at designated spots were also issued.
The meeting among others was attended by, JD Planning, DSEO, Tehisldar Budgam, Executive Engineers from different engineering wings, officers from Town Planning, MC Budgam and other concerned.
