Srinagar, Feb 25: Six persons from Marwah area of Warwan in Kishtwar district, who had gone missing on way to their from Anantnag via Margan top, have reached their homes safely after spending three nights in snow-laden mountains
An official from Warwan said that all six persons are alive and they were spotted at the top of Inshan area of Warwan on Friday morning by some locals
He said later police and locals from the Warwan area headed towards them and rescued them and all six are fine with their families now.
Locals from the area said that six persons who were missing had spent two nights at Margan top as there is a dhaba and few guest houses and one night at Naribalan.
Pertinently, there was no contact with the six missing persons identified as Muhammad Akber Koka, Ghulam Nabi Koka, Ajaz Ahmad Koka, Gulzar Ahmed Koka, Manzoor Ahmed Koka and Idrees Ahmad Dar all from Choiudraman Warwan since Tuesday 9 pm.
Meanwhile locals have requested the government to airlift all locals who are stranded in Kishtwar and Anantnag districts.
They have also requested the government to construct a tunnel from Kokernag side to Marwah side for a one time solution so that such incidents won’t happen again.
It is pertinent to mention here that Anantnag administration and Kishtwar administration were working from day 01 to trace six persons after they were informed that there is no contact with six persons who were on way to Marwah from Kokernag side via Margan top.
