Dilapidated roads

Commuting on Srinagar roads has once again turned out to be a hectic process as the majority of roads here have developed potholes, leaving the people to lurch at large. Interestingly, the roads leading to the hospitals too are in shambles as there has been no proper mechanism in place on these roads that can put an end to the worries of commuters at least for over a year or so. Due to the dilapidated condition of roads, the patients, mostly pregnant ladies are suffering a lot. It is worth to mention here that some of the roads in Srinagar have been renovated in an extraordinary way and there is less possibility of potholes and other related things now, thus are set to provide a sigh of relief among the commuters. The people across Kashmir continue to face hardships due to the potholed roads as every year after the snowfall in the Valley; the roads here turn into a messy affair and thus pushing the local populace here to the wall. There are a lot of claims about the smart city and other developments, but when one looks at the situation of the roads, it puts a question mark over the government claims. One fails to understand how the government is going to come up with a smart city with the presence of such dilapidated roads here. In order to improve the situation on the ground, the government should come up with a solution and ensure that the sufferings of people are put to an immediate end and the claims being made with regard to the development are fulfilled on the ground.
