6 youth involved in stabbing incident at Badamwari held: Police

Srinagar, Mar 30: The district police Srinagar on Wednesday claimed to have arrested six persons involved in stabbing incident at Badamwari areas of Rainawari.
A police spokesman in a statement said that on 28- 03-2022 in the evening hours, a scuffle broke out outside Badamwari between the two groups comprising of young boys, over a trivial issue, wherein at the beginning two boys had a small quarrel with each other and later on two groups took their sides.
“The fight ended in the stabbing of one boy resulting in serious injuries to him, while as other boy also sustained injuries in the incident. The injured were later on operated upon SMHS Karannagar and SKIMS Soura hospitals, respectively,” police said.
Those injured were identified as Tariq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Bashir Ahmad of Radpora Khaniyar and Arshad Ahmad Sheikh, son of Abdul Rashid Sheikh of Hamda Kadal Shiekh Colony Hawal.
In this context, a case under FIR number 19/2022 under section 307, 325,147,148 IPC stands registered in Police Station Rainawari, police said.
“Many suspects were apprehended for questioning. During questioning, six persons were prima-facie found to be involved in the commission of crime and have been arrested today,” police said.
Police identified the arrested persons as Danish Ahmad Sheikh, son of Mustaq Ahmad of Sheikh Colony Hawal, Farhan Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Nabi Mir of Kak Mohalla Nowhatta, Shahzib Altaf Ahangar, son of Muhammad Altaf of Gojwara Nowhatta, Arbaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Muhammad Altaf Bhat of Maqdoom Sahab Nowhatta, Tavqeer Sidiq Gojree, son of Muhammad Sidiq Gojree of Radpora Khaniyar and Waseem Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar of Kakamohalla Nowhatta.
Other accused persons, who was part of either of the two groups, are being identified and will be arrested in due course, police said.
