Srinagar, Apr 7: Jammu and Kashmir High Court Thursday quashed the detention of a North Kashmir laborer under the contentious Public Safety Act (PSA).
Court sources informed news agency Kashmir News Trust that the detention of Mushtaq Ahmed Wani, son of Abdul Rasheed Wani, a resident of Wahab Pora, Parray Mohalla Hajin was quashed by the court on Thursday, nearly seven months after he was arrested on charges of alleged stone-pelting in September 2021 and simultaneously booked under the PSA.
Justice Sanjay Dhar after hearing the arguments of Advocate Bashir Ahmed Tak, who represented Mushtaq Ahmed Wani quashed his detention under PSA and directed authorities to release him from Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu. (KNT)
