The modern time is turning out to be a terrible situation for the poor people across the country as from vegetable sellers to the people at the helm; all are seemingly out to put efforts to add to the miseries of the underprivileged section of the society. One wonders how the incumbent government in the centre has changed the ground situation for a common man despite claiming high and tall about what it used to say ‘Acche Din’ (Good Days). The situation at present is such that the present times have turned out as ‘Bure Din’ (Bad days) for the downtrodden section of the society due to skyrocketing prices of the essentials. Since the incumbent regime took over in the centre, the prices of essentials continued to soar, thus leaving the underprivileged people to lurch at large. Amid such a situation, the authorities have hiked the price of a cooking gas cylinder by Rs 50. This is for the second time in the last six weeks that the price of an LPG gas cylinder has been hiked. The claims of the government with regard to serving the poor people are being questioned by the people, who could find contradictions in statements of the people at the helm of affairs and the ground reality. There is a need to take care of the underprivileged people and such measures and hikes must be stopped forthwith so that the poor people are not pushed to the wall any further so that they could heave a sigh of relief.
